Moore Chamber of Commerce

Letter from the President About the Chamber  |  Chamber Leaders

Letter From the President

It has been an honor and privilege to serve as this year’s Moore Chamber president! I have had the opportunity to witness the phenomenal business growth in our community.

The 2008 Moore Chamber year was a banner year! We participated in many exciting events including the openings of the Warren Theatre, Southmoore High School, and many other businesses. The continued business development on both sides of Interstate 35 represents a positive breakthrough for the Moore community.

The economic boom will continue into 2009 with the combined efforts of business, the Moore Chamber, and the City of Moore. City officials will continue to work diligently to provide city services to support business growth. All are working together for the good of the community.

The Moore Chamber’s new facility located on the I-35 corridor offers a great front doorway to the City of Moore. Staff members are friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable about what’s happening in Moore. Chamber members appreciate the value delivered by the Chamber and the staff. Membership in the Chamber is growing rapidly and is approaching 600, with a membership renewal rate of 95 percent! WOW!

No doubt, people across the state are taking notice of Moore! If you are not a current member of the Moore Chamber, I would encourage you to INVEST in the success of your business now!

Sincerely,

John Hunter, President
Moore Chamber of Commerce

About the Chamber

The Moore Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven organization whose mission is to promote and facilitate the growth of the business community for our members and stakeholders. Established in 1946, the Chamber has served as the voice of the Moore business community for over 60 years and stands ready to serve an ever-growing community. An investment in the Chamber is beneficial in many ways – both directly and indirectly.

The Chamber provides a unified voice in governmental affairs on local, state and national levels. We follow issues that could affect business, and encourage our elected officials to support those that would have a positive impact, and oppose those that would be detrimental to the business community.

The Chamber works closely with the City of Moore in its efforts to assist existing businesses and to attract new ones. This provides our citizens with the convenience of finding products and services locally, and at the same time increase sales tax revenue, which allows the city to provide improved services. Community pride is beneficial to businesses. Consumers have a positive attitude when they look around and see an attractive, well-maintained store or office facility. The Chamber is highly involved in Moore Beautiful, an ongoing program to enhance the appearance of our community.

Realizing the importance of our youth to the city’s future, the Chamber is a strong advocate of education. The Chamber annually gives recognition to outstanding students, teachers and patrons.

An important benefit of membership is networking with other area business people. Membership luncheons, Business After Hours, Business Before Hours, Ribbon Cuttings, and other functions provide opportunities to make new business contacts.

Referrals are a direct benefit of membership. The Chamber office receives calls daily about where to obtain particular products or services. We check our membership data, and when we have members who offer the requested product or service, those are the names provided.

On behalf of the board of directors, staff and members of the Moore Chamber of Commerce, we welcome you to our great city!
